Mark N.K. Bagnall
President

Mark N.K. Bagnall joined ProGenTech in March of 2009 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed to President in July of 2009. Prior to ProGenTech, Mr. Bagnall was Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the board of directors of ADVENTRX Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company focused on commercializing treatments for cancer. Prior to ADVENTRX, Mr. Bagnall held top financial positions at five life science companies: Metabolex, Inc., a privately-held biopharmaceutical company, Metrika, Inc., a privately-held diagnostics company, and three public biotechnology companies: Progenitor, Inc., Somatix Therapy Corporation, and Hana Biologics, Inc. Mr. Bagnall was a director of Via Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company focused on the treatment of cardiovascular and metabolic disease. Mr. Bagnall received his BS in Business Administration from the U.C. Berkeley Business School and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Dr. Jesus Ching
Founder, Chief Scientific Officer

Jesus Ching, Ph.D., is a co-founder of ProGenTech and is currently functioning as the company’s Chief Scientific Officer. Prior to Progentech, Dr. Ching was the Director of Research and Development at Cepheid, where he successfully co-invented key technologies (seven patents) and managed the development of molecular diagnostic products in oncology and infectious disease. Dr. Ching also facilitated the launch of ProteinChips® (i.e., biochips) at Ciphergen Biosystems in 1998. Ciphergen Biosystems (Fremont, CA) was purchased by BioRad in 2007. Dr. Ching developed the initial chemistries for ProteinChips® while at University of California at Davis and Baylor College of Medicine (Houston, TX) as a postgraduate and graduate student, respectively.

Deborah Wright
VP Operations

Deborah Wright joined ProGenTech in December of 2009 as Vice President of Operations. Prior to ProGenTech, Ms. Wright was an independent consultant assisting with manufacturing and quality system issues for medical device, pharmaceutical, and software companies. Prior to consulting, she was Vice President of Operations for Cepheid, where she established the manufacturing and quality operations during her six-year tenure. Prior positions include nine years with Syva (a division of Syntex Pharmaceuticals) where she held positions in Quality and Program Management. She began her career at Bio-Rad where she worked for 10 years in Manufacturing and reached the position of Supervisor. Ms. Wright holds a BS in Biology from the University of California at San Diego.

Dylan Bird
Director Business Development

Dylan Bird joined ProGenTech in May of 2008 as Director of Business Development. Prior to joining ProGenTech, Mr. Bird was an investment professional at Bay City Capital responsible for developing financial analysis and conducting research for Bay City Capital’s venture investments and related activities. He previously worked in the Research and Development group of Posit Science Corporation, a San Francisco based neurotechnology start-up company. Mr. Bird was a Robert T. Jones graduate fellow at the University of St. Andrews and holds a degree from Emory University in Neuroscience and French Literature.
